The Week in Review...

Hum Dee Dum...I'm bored. I'm still in the dealership for car maintenance and forgot to bring a book. Thankfully they have internet. This place is crazy. They have an awesome big screen TV, Fresh fruit, a fancy coffee machine with syrups to choose from and plush leather couches...

Anyway...My weeks seem to have gotten longer and much busier. Less time to blog. (Sorry)

Things I've been thinking about...

I've got a 5k run coming up this weekend with a friend. I'm wondering why I paid $25 to run this race when I've run around the lake for free a million times in the past. (So I can get the T-shirt?)

My mom is coming to visit soon. She hasn't seen my new digs and I'm very excited to spend time with her on my west-coast terf.

I've been meditating on 1Samuel 7:12 All week. It's about the Ebenezer Stone which meant "The Lord has helped us thus far." It's encouraged me to take life one day at a time and not striving to look so far down the road to things I cannont see. But rather to know and believe that "thus far" (today) the Lord is helping me.

It's been a great week.

Miss you around here! =)

And when you look at all that expensive stuff at the dealership, just remember why they can afford all that stuff. =P I got promoted to Accounting Clerk in charge of payables & receiveables (yes, me, Miss I Hate Math) so I've seen what the bank balances look like & how much money comes in on any given day.

I love the word ebenezer.

I love the concept of stone memorials to remember the times in which God helped us.

My favorite event in the Bible, which involved stone memorials to remember God's help, is Joshua 4:1-7. The Israelites, after they crossed the Jordan River, whose flow the Lord cut, picked up twelve large stones from the middle of the river.

When I mentor guys as a youth group leader or as a soccer coach, I try to convince them to pick up a small rock (with unique characteristics) to remember the Lord's help whenever the Lord gets them out of a jam.

Trivia: Ebenezer is really composed of two Hebrew words:
eben - stone
ezer - help

Dawn- Way to go on the promo =) Was that a long time ago?

Dan- Absolutly! And for the first time in ages, I did exactly that....with a lot of help, if you know what I mean!

Pin- Yeah, I actually looked up the trivia when I was researching the word earlier this week. Great Stuff.

Loved your musings :) Yes, the Lord has helped us thus far and will continue to!

LOL! Yes. It was back in Connecticut. I wouldn't ever work at another dealership if I could help it. Plus, working with numbers like that was extremely stressful for me. I am much happier running the office where I am now, with someone *else* crunching the numbers. Give me human resources/administration (we're a small company lol) any day.

The car dealership you describe can not be the one that I worked at....... unless they decided that the customers needed some new comfortable digs.
