The Allure of...

Today I am wearing a sundress and my hair is a messy short pony tail. I don't own enough of these. (Dresses) The other day I was talking with a friend who said that he preferred women in dresses. As a woman, I think I agree. There just seems to be something a bit more alluring to see a woman in a dress. Dresses make me feel more feminine and this might sound stupid, but when I'm around a guy, I wonder if it makes them feel more masculine. Maybe, maybe not. It doesn't really matter.
I'm sitting here in the Zoka Coffee shop. I so prefer it to *bucks. I don't like "the Bucks" (sorry all you Bucks fans.) But there are just so many more interesting and delicious coffee shops around here, why settle for the flavor of burnt coffee?
So I've got my Americano and I'm sitting with my black flip flop dangling off my crossed legged foot.
As I gaze around the room a sturdy looking blond in heels is sweeping the floor in a way that mimics dancing. She has light feet despite her sturdy frame. When she smiles, her teeth look like round shiny pearls. I hope she thinks she's pretty, because she is.
Right now the music I hear is The Shins. I love this band. The Shins, Amos Lee, Keane, Damien Rice's Cannon Ball. Interesting how certain music moves people. I enjoy this because it's contemplative and mellow. Yet what I identify with, you may not.
This is just the allure of details today and I can still smell the faint scent of the perfume I put on my skin this morning, I smell like dessert.

1)"wonder if it makes them feel more masculine."

Yes. I do not know why. Not better about ourselves, but more protective. A natural male instinct I suppose.

2)Damien Rice is one of my faves. I like the Shins.

G'day from Oz, Colleen,

See comment I made on the earlier post! I've enjoyed my first visit and if you're a friend of Dan's, then I can see we have a great deal in common.

I have a lot of time for him too.

By the way, could I give you one piece of advice, based on my layout experience in magazines and newspapers? This is a great template and you use it really well for display purposes - but try changing your post dates to white or cream and you'll see they stand out a lot more clearly.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I've enjoyed the first visit here so much that I have to ask - would you mind if I added you to my blogroll.

If you need to do a ``background check'' on me, talk to Dan!

Keep smiling

David

Mega Man- saweet! thanks for the insight into the male brain. Interesting...and fun to know.;)

David- As you can see I have already taken your advice on the layout...it DOES look better. I'd love to be part of your blog roll, assuming I may do the same with your fantastic blog =)

Well done - it looks great.

Adding you to my blogroll now and yes, I'd be delighted to be on your blogroll. I think you have a wonderful touch as a writer, because you engage your readers immediately.

Anything I can do to help, you can always count on me.

have you ever checked out Jason Morant? He put my faith back in Christian music.

I love how in this post you are so in the moment. Not yesterday, or tomorrow, but today.

Hi Colleen,

Meant to say that I also liked the creative touch ``*bucks''. Is that a common reference in the US - I've never seen it presented that way here in Oz.

Cheers

David

David-
Actually, I've never heard anyone else call it "bucks" or "the Bucks." If they do, I'm not aware of it.
