Frozen Roses

Ready to burst
ready to bloom
but the frozen roses
died in June.
Hoping for fragrance
hoping for bees
the frozen roses
got none of these.
Winter played a trick
and would not let up.
Now frozen roses
lay dried in my cup.
Not worth smelling
I picked these for free
and dried roses,
will I drink for tea.
