On Matters of Poetry and Sometimes My Soul

I am an old dry sea sponge,
tossed upon the shore,
with nothing left to wring out.

But I have also noticed,
that the dryer the sponge,
the faster it absorbs water.

Somebody please,
throw me back from whence I came...

Again with the brilliant imagery, Colleen. I don't know how you do it...

Just remember dear girl, you have a river of life flowing out of you :)

P.S. I like elevator music too. I play the piano! I like alot of different types of music so I hope you were not offended in my last comment with that :) And by the way, I love that picture of you on top of a mountain! That looked like an awesome trip. My hubby and I just watched a show on people who are thru hikers from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachain Trail. We've hiked parts of it in Pa, but one day maybe, we'll go further. Our summer trips include New York's Adirondack Mountains. Breathtaking views!

Dawn- I'm often as perplexed as you are...

Susan ;-)

So cool you play the piano. I greatly admire anyone who can play an instrument, (and I wasn't offended by your elevator music comment). :-)

I love hiking and rock climbing!! One of my favorite things to do!

I'll throw you back into the sea.
You won't fly far, but count on me.

For a sponge is not heavy in weight.
And its lack of mass,
a far distance,
would not and can not create!

Thanks for stopping by. I like your poetry! So sad about the garden arbor...but it will forever be a wonderful memory etched in your mind..and nobody can take that away from you.

Cute little rabbit critter in the slide show!

Over from David's blog.

Fantastic imagery. And so true. Hope you absorb some of that life giving liquid a sponge needs so you can write again!
