I am a house.
I am a funny looking building.
I am always under construction!
See my signs?
Caution: Unstable ground today!
Warning: Enter with caution!
---> This way to the party!
What? You say you still want to come in?
Check the windows first.
If you look in the windows you may cry or laugh at any given moment, but you will still be compelled to stare.
Might as well...nothing done in the dark stays a secret anyway.
Cross the red tape.
Rip the yellow caution signs.
Just don't stay away.
Even though I may not be ready for every visitor,
it's better than being alone.
And someday you will pass the structure that once looked at times fragile, or messy and see it complete.
And there won't be any red tape.
And there won't be any caution signs.
And every room will be presentable to see.
Then the Carpenter who started it all will put his hands on his hips and smile approving and say "It is finished."
And someday I will walk past your house or funny looking building and hope to see the same thing.

After "Carpenter", should "stated" be "started"? =)
Oooh! I'm so glad you caught that! I proof my stuff, but still miss things. Woops...
Wow. Very powerful imagery, Colleen.

XeonX- Well hey there, glad you are enjoying it! ;)
As usual I am in awe of your astute and insightful observations of the human condition and yet your ability to express them in such simple and charming ways. That's always been my favorite part and I think your strength with regard to your writing. I always look forward to seeing what you are going to come up with next. MOM
Hi Colleen,
Might not be the most regular visitor for the next three or four weeks because I have to hand over my novel on 31 October - but I'm always just one click away if you need me.
Will always be here for you and other blog friends.
Keep smiling
David
