Heartbreak

I could hear the pain
in my chest as I took
a deep breath.
As if someone punched me in the stomach.
Only the hurt went right
into my heart.
And the pain took me down
to the bottom of the ocean.
When I tried to talk,
all I could do was blow bubbles.
And all I could see
was my shoes for two years.
